Know Where to Stash Your Trash
Did you know that illegal trash dumping is actually a punishable offense?
Illegal dumping is basically the disposal of waste in an non-permitted area. People continually practice this to avoid fees, time, and effort, but we’ve had enough!
While it’s also a major burned on Mother Earth, and the folks responsible for picking up your mess, it could get you in serious trouble with the law.
While there’s no surefire way to stop these jerks, there are things you can do to help your city to crack down on illegal dumping issues.
- Call someone. If you witness someone dumping trash illegally in the city of Indianapolis or surrounding areas like Avon, Carmel, Fishers, Greenwood, Noblesville, or Zionsville – call 327-4MAC (the Mayor’s Action Center) or head to this website.
- Know where to drop it off. Knowledge is power – here are two addresses for the city of Indianapolis (*source)

Don’t be a part of the problem. When you purchase something, you should be mindful about the materials that make your products and the future disposal of them. If they can be recycled, you should responsibly recycle the materials. It’s common sense, but sometimes the extra effort can seem like too much. Make the effort.
We work hard to responsibly dispose of your waste in areas around Indy – continue to help us by making the same choice!
